I Am Free

Have you ever found it a struggle to get rid of bad habits?

I have! I’ve often felt bound by something I want to be free from.

When we come to God and ask him to forgive our sin,

turn away from it and towards him, we experience his forgiveness and grace.

Our life is then free from the power that sin has over us.

If this is the case, why is it still a struggle to overcome sin?

Being human, we often fail to rely on God’s strength, preferring to rely on our own.

This doesn’t work! God wants us to come to him in humility,

ask for forgiveness and go on being an overcomer by living in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We shouldn’t let failure discourage us.

If God’s grace has the power to save us, it also has the power to transform us.

 

 

My heart is not at peace

Thoughts of envy deep inside me never cease

I just can’t let go

Even though I know it’s tearing up my soul

It’s making me crazy

Who’s going to save me?

 

Deep down inside I’m already free

I am forgiven, God rescued me

Jesus has come into my life

Bringing me change

I am free

 

Thoughts flood my mind

If I am free then why am enslaved?

Time if I am wise

Will reveal to me the essence of my life

His grace will transform me

It’s already saved me

 

When I am living in the way of the spirit

Then I know I am free
