Stars

So many of us look up at the stars,

in hope of a future,

to find who we are.

While others of us simply look away

and say there’s no God, it’s all a mistake.

But I believe there must be a cause,

an infinite creator of celestial laws.

His power displayed to all of us,

in simple words of hope and trust.

 

There is no speech or language where

the voice of God is not heard.

The heavens say it all day long.

They’re never late, never wrong.

Like a champion calling all of us to paradise!

 

Still others of us put their faith in the sun,

the wind and the ocean,

the stars and the moon.

They truly believe that there’s nothing more

than the most awesome creation or natural law.

Yet these celestial preachers again and again

speak of one higher than the greatest of men.

His power is displayed to all of us,

in simple words of hope and trust.

 

Far beyond the universe,

yet closer still than earth and dust.

Is the one the stars speak of,

before time began and the human race and the fall of man.
